YOUR VIDEO

This is a NATIONWIDE casting call. If you are unable to attend the open call in CHICAGO, DALLAS, LOS ANGELES, MIAMI, or NEW YORK, you MUST send your submission by mail to be considered for the show.

 

What do I need?

Please have a friend or family member videotape the dance portion of your video or you may also set up the camera on a tripod. Send us your dance routine that’s at least 4 counts of 8 of either jazz or salsa (any song).  It will help insure that you and your original dance routine is seen clearly. Please also introduce yourself with your name, age, and brief bio at the start of the video.

 

How long should my video be?

The length of the video should be 5-10 minutes of unedited footage. No cuts, no voice overs, no fancy transitions – raw footage only please in one of the following formats ONLY: DVD. We need the video of your dance routine as well as a brief introduction of yourself at the start of your video.

 

How do I make my video the best quality possible?

No need to use a professional video service. Have a friend videotape you, but please do not hold the camera for your introduction. We would like to make sure we can see you. Make sure that you are not backlit (meaning, don’t stand in front of a window or other source of light) during your introduction. Stand or sit in front of a PLAIN background. This will keep you from looking washed out.  Avoid wearing all white, all black or any outfits with busy/striped prints.  Again, this is to insure we can see you clearly and that the image quality is good. Turn off all televisions, radio, air conditioning or anything else that might add extra noise during your introduction and stay close to the camera microphone. We want to hear you! When you begin your dance routine make sure the music is close to the microphone and that the camera records your entire routine.

 

What do I put on the video?

PLEASE HAVE LOADS OF ENERGY. Have fun!

*TIP: The camera tends to suck the energy right out of you, so keep the energy up!

 

TELL US AS ABOUT YOU:

In this brief video, answer these questions:

  1. Please start with a big HELLO and say your name!

  2. Then give your name, occupation, and the city currently reside in.

  3. Give us a brief bio about yourself.

  4. Your relationship history.

  5. Your dating history.

  6. Why you are single and why you want to find love?

  7. What do you do for fun?

  8. Give us a brief summary of your dance background, if any.

9. Then please add anything else we should know about you and say why you would be perfect for the show!

10. Send us your original dance routine that’s at least 4 counts of 8 of either jazz or salsa (any song)

 

The video must be free from any pornographic or graphically violent material, cannot contain any nudity and must not contain any content that is contrary to law or infringes upon the rights of any third party.  By submitting the video, you represent that it does not contain any such material or content. (Please be sure to review the release and other legal provisions of the application before you submit your video.)

HELPFUL HINTS: 

Do NOT read something you’ve prepared on camera. We want to see/hear you speak off the cuff. We will have your applications to read the details. Don’t worry about trying to say or do the “right” thing. There is NO “right” or “wrong”. Above all: HAVE FUN MAKING THE VIDEO! 

 

Please note that we cannot review your video submission until we receive your signed applications from you.  We will not look at it otherwise, so please be sure to submit the applications FIRST!
